The University of Bahrain Holds an Intensive Workshop for Postgraduate Students on the Statistical Software “STATA”

The Department of Economics and Finance, College of Business Administration, University of Bahrain organized an intensive workshop on the statistical software “STATA”. Postgraduate students and faculty members of the College participated in the workshop.

The workshop was presented by the assistant professor in the Department of Economics and Finance, Dr. Ammar Barham Jreisat who explained the statistical analysis software and how it is used in statistical analysis in scientific research, Masters, and PhD theses in the fields of business administration, finance, and economics. Dr. Jreisat reviewed some of the research tools used in the software to show the relationship between the variables. He explained how to choose the best statistical model according to the nature and methodology of the study.

Dr. Jreisat discussed with postgraduate students the various statistical methods that can be used in the statistical software, to obtain outcomes in a way commensurate with the research hypotheses. He added that STATA is considered one of the best statistical software for analyzing financial and economic data in the form of Panel Data which is a particular type of data collected by observing certain variables with regular frequency chronologically. This type of data helps experts identify trends, capture autocorrelations, and conduct further analysis of the variables included in the panel data.
