Training 50 College Students at The MosChip Branch to Be Established in Bahrain UoB’s “Engineering” Cooperates with A Leading Group to Manufacture Electronic Chips

The College of Engineering at the University of Bahrain (UoB) has discussed aspects of cooperation and coordination with MosChip Group, a leading manufacturer of electronic chips based in the Republic of India.
A meeting was held between the Dean of the College of Engineering at the University, Dr. Sheikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, and representatives of the MosChip Group, in which cooperation in the areas of training and consultancy was discussed, as well as the exchange of expertise and experiences.
During the meeting – which was held in coordination with the Economic Development Board – Dr. Haifa bint Ibrahim discussed with the group the development of the programs of the College of Engineering, including electrical and electronic engineering, in line with the requirements of the labor market.
The meeting was attended by a representative of the Economic Development Board, Mohammed Al-Bahar, while the company was represented by its CEO, Engineer Ventaka Simhadiri, Engineer Jairam Sausari, and the Company’s business developer Suresh Verma. On the side of UoB, members of the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Department, Prof. Mohab Mangoud and Dr. Abdullah Rabia, participated in the meeting, as well as Dr. Riham Al-Masaeed from the Computer Engineering Department at the College of Information Technology, along with two members of the College of Engineering Development Committee, Dr. Raed Al-Jowder, and Dr. Nihal Al-Murbati.
The audience listened to a brief presentation by Dr. Al-Jowder, who is responsible for communicating with external parties in the College, where he talked about the College’s programs and future plans.
On the other hand, Simhadiri presented an overview of the Company he founded after 15 years of experience in Silicon Valley in the United States, as he transferred his experiences to establish the current company in India, which is a pioneer in the field of electronic chip design, and cooperates with international companies such as Intel.
The famous company intends to train 50 students from the College in its branch to be established in Bahrain, to use the latest technology methods and the basics of electronic design.
Moreover, Dr. Sheikha Haifa bint Ibrahim suggested setting up an integrated one-year pilot program for the College’s graduates, and to put cooperation between the two sides to develop a vision for the development of the new college laboratories equipped with the latest design programs required by international companies. Also, one of the Company’s representatives was invited to be a member of the advisory board of the Electrical Engineering Department, and some graduates were nominated for management positions in the Company.
At the end of the meeting, Prof. Mohab Mangoud was chosen to be responsible for communicating with the Company, and to start developing initial plans for future partnerships. After the meeting, the visiting delegation took an inspection tour of the College’s laboratories and departments.
