The President of UoB Holds Discussions with Affiliates of the College of Arts and Congratulates them on Obtaining the Academic Accreditation

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen AlMudhahki, held an open meeting with the academians and administrators of the College of Arts in the E-Learning Center at the University premises in Sakhir, on Monday April 18, 2022. Dr. AlMudhahki welcomed the members of the academic and administrative staff and lauded the efforts they exert to promote education levels to graduate qualified cadres in the various programs of the prestigious College, established in 1978.

Dr. AlMudhahki congratulated the college for obtaining academic accreditation to culminate its mission in graduating cadres that led the comprehensive development in many important positions, thanks to the scientific and research experiences and competencies of professors teaching in the college. She stressed that the university administration is keen to support the College to achieve its ambitious plans in the various academic, research and teaching fields.

The President of the University noted that the College is interested in instilling the twenty first century skills in its students, enhancing their various interests, and highlighting their leadership roles through extra-curricular activities. She stressed that the university is concerned with graduating efficient cadres in all fields.

During the meeting, which lasted more than 90 minutes, the College affiliates talked about their ambitions to advance the administrative and academic aspects, their proposals for developing and improving work, and their visions for the future of the College of Arts and the University in general. The meeting addressed several issues, most notably of which is supporting scientific research, developing some academic departments, facilitating the academic process, and supporting administrative performance in the College and the university.

The Vice President for Community Service and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Mohammad Saleh Al-Ansari, the Vice President for Information Technology and Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, and the Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Mohammad Reda Qader, and the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammad Bulila participated in answering the questions of the faculty affiliates, along with the President of the University.

After the meeting, Dr. Al-Mudhadhi: stated that, “These meetings with faculty affiliates would provide an open atmosphere for the exchange of ideas and opinions on issues of concern to all faculty affiliates, whether at the academic or administrative level. She added that the ideas and proposals made in this meeting represent an incentive for further development and advancement of the College’s future work.

It is worthy to note that the College of Arts offers bachelor’s programs in Arabic language and literature, Islamic studies, Media, Tourism, Arts and Design, English language and literature, History, and Sociology.

The College also offers postgraduate programs in Arabic Language and Literature, Media, English language and literature, and Family Psychology.
