During The Celebration of Its Programs Gaining the Confidence Of BQA UoB’s College of Law Prepares to Launch New Programs That Meet the Needs of the Market

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, congratulated the College of Law and all its affiliates for five programs of the College’s recently obtained the confidence of the Education and Training Quality Authority (BQA).
On this occasion, the President of the University stated that the College of Law is one of the colleges that has gained high confidence in the labor market, and many of its intelligent graduates have attained a high and prestigious position in all fields and specializations related to legal work, and she thanked and appreciated all members of the College for their efforts to continue upgrading the College, its programs and its graduates.
During the celebration held by the college on this occasion, the Dean of the College of Law at UoB, Dr. Salah Mohammed Ahmed, announced that the College is working on developing its programs and study plans in light of the audit reports of BQA, pointing to work being done on introducing new study programs at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels, in a manner that meets the needs of the labor market, keeps pace with the new legal fields, and at the same time ensures maintaining the quality of its educational outputs.
With the participation of members of the academic and administrative bodies, the Dean stated that: “This confidence that the College has for its programs was granted first by the grace of God, then due to the sincere efforts, and the constant keenness of the College’s academic and administrative staff to elevate our dear College and our National University, in light of the continuous care and support from the esteemed University Administration.”.
Also, the Dean called on the academic body to monitor the economic, social, and legal transformations, to understand them, and to search for appropriate solutions to them, through research and scientific studies, and scientific activities in classrooms and training facilities.
For her part, the Director of the Quality Assurance Office at the College of Law, Dr. Wafa’a Jassem Al-Wafi, indicated that the College of Law earned the degree of (trustworthy), as it met all the standards required by BQA in the external review of its programs, praising the great solidarity and cooperation from the members of the College, as their permanent desire is to develop the outputs of the College of Law, and to advance the scientific level in it.
Also, Dr. Al-Wafi indicated that the College of Law is keen to achieve the objectives of the external review of the performance of higher education institutions, as the members of the academic and administrative bodies cooperated in preparing self-evaluation reports and its guides for the academic programs offered by the College, noting that “the work continued since October 2020, until the end of the visit on 10 June of 2021, and then the audit process took place, and the results of the audit were recently officially published”.
The College’s programs that received a “trustworthy” rating in all four areas of review are: Bachelor’s in Law, Master’s in Private Law, Master’s in Public Law, PhD in Philosophy in Private Law, and PhD in Philosophy in Public Law.
During the celebration, faculty members and administrators who participated in preparing and writing self-evaluation reports for academic programs were honored, as well as those who participated in review sessions, heads of departments, and the director of the Quality Assurance Office at the College of Law.
