Dr. Al-Mudhahki Congratulates Heads and Supervisors of UoB’s Qualified and Winning Teams in INJAZ Bahrain Competition

Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, the University of Bahrain President, received the heads and supervisors of UoB qualified and winning teams in the 14th annual INJAZ Bahrain Young Entrepreneurs competition of 2021/2022, on Thursday July 5, 2022.
Dr. Al-Mudhahki welcomed the heads and supervisors of the two winning teams, namely (Mirage) team, winner of the (Excellence in Technology Award) sponsored by Amazon Web Services, and the “Reqahwa” team, winner of the “Best Product Award”. She also welcomed the heads of the qualified teams, namely the teams (Maktabat), (Digit Budget), (Warmed), and (Edn to Art).
The President of University of Bahrain stressed the valuable and crucial role INJAZ Bahrain plays in providing a platform to encourage and support the youth. She also lauded the youthful message the Chairperson of INJAZ Bahrain, Her Highness Sheikha Hessa bint Khalifa Al Khalifa, was keen to convey to the people over the years. Dr. Al-Mudhahki added that hundreds of thousands of school and university students have participated in this program since its initiation, she also praised UOB’s students’ dedication and efforts in presenting valuable and pioneering ideas and solutions, wishing them success in representing the Kingdom of Bahrain in the regional competition for young entrepreneurs organized annually by the INJAZ Al Arab. She extended her special thanks to the supervisors who exerted tireless efforts and availed their scientific and practical experience to the students, which helped them overcome difficulties and reach this distinguished level.
The honoring ceremony was attended by the supervisors of the six teams: Dr. Reem Sultan, Dr. Ghadeer Ismail, Ahmed Miro from the College of Business Administration and the College of Information Technology of UoB, Ahmed Al-Mansoori from STC, Reem Marhoon from the National Bank of Kuwait, Fatima Fardan from Arab Banking Corporation (ABC), and Ibtisam Bin Gharib. The attendants expressed their admiration of the team spirit and unparalleled enthusiasm students showed, and their determination to come up with innovative ideas in their projects. Meanwhile, the students expressed their pride in belonging to the University of Bahrain, which instilled in them the spirit of initiative and leadership and supported them to turn their dreams into reality.
On her part, Dr. Esra Ahmed Wali, Director of the Business Incubator Center at the University of Bahrain and the coordinator of INJAZ Bahrain programs at the university, lauded the teamwork spirit and the creativity university students demonstrate annually, which always motivates them to excel, win and qualify for the next stages. She added that UoB administration has always sought to provide the participating teams’ requirements, in terms of experts, meeting places, and logistics, which helps the participating students implement their own ideas and visions.
The (Mirage) team worked on a project that converts the virtual world into reality through creating a three-dimensional image that displays, through hologram, two-dimensional images and videos from a flat screen, as three-dimensional shapes that are more attractive to viewers.
The (Reqahwa) team worked on a coffee recycling project that regards coffee residues as a valuable resource that can be reused to make innovative products that would benefit the people and the environment.
As for the qualified teams, (Edn to Art) presented a project establishing a digital company to sell high-quality art products, at reasonable prices, to support local production. (Digit Budget) presented an electronic platform to create an enjoyable and easy shopping experience for customers and encourage control over budget and reduce expenditure. (Maktabat) presented a digital platform that connects the reader to all local libraries through a single app. (WARMED) presented a device that heats coffee and keeps it warm for 25 minutes.
