Representing 80% Of the National Team Dr. Al-Mudhahki Congratulates the UoB Students Participating In The National Volleyball Youth Team Qualifying to the World Cup Finals

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahki, congratulated the University students in Bahrain National Youth Volleyball Team players, who achieved second place in the 17th Asian Youth Volleyball Championship, qualifying them to the World Youth Volleyball Championship that will be held in Germany and Greece next year (2023), referring to the great impact of the vision of His Highness Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs, President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, and the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the General Authority For sports, the President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee in sponsoring and advancing youth and facilitating all means for them to achieve championships in individual and team games, and raising the flag of the Kingdom of Bahrain in all forums.
The University President praised the high spirit students had during their participation, noting that the UoB students who participate in all sports tournaments over the years, especially in volleyball, have honored their country and their university to which they belong with their high performances.
In her turn, Dr. Lina Mohammed Khenji, Dean of the College of Health and Sports Sciences (CHSS) at UoB, expressed her pride in the UoB students performances during their participation in the 17th Asian Youth Volleyball Championship, stressing that the University worked to provide all technical, administrative and academic facilities to university students in order to give their best in local, regional and international competitions to raise the name of their country in sports forums.
For his part, Dr. Osama Ibrahim Al-Sheikh, Head of the Department of Physical Education at CHSS at UoB, stated that: “The squad of the Bahrain National Youth Volleyball Team, which qualified for the World Cup finals, includes six players from University of Bahrain students, out of ten main players, which constitutes 80% of the national team.”.
In addition, Dr. Al-Sheikh said that through UoB’s strategy, it seeks to support the sports sector at the local, regional and global levels, by providing the national sport with qualified and trained sports and technical cadres who are able to compete in various sports.
