College of Business Administration at University of Bahrain Receives Second Batch of PhD Students in Business Analytics

The College of Business Administration, University of Bahrain received, on Thursday 13Th of October 2022, the second cohort of the students of the prom of PhD in Business Analytics with its five majors, namely management, marketing, finance, Islamic banking, and accounting.

The applicants to the PhD program during the academic year 2022/2023 amounted to 28 male and female students. Applicants registered in the preliminary courses as passing these courses is one of the prerequisites of the program. These courses include Big Data Applications, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning.

The coordinator of the PhD program in Business Analytics, Prof. Adel Ismail Al-Alawi, expressed his pleasure to receive the students of the second batch. Pro. Al-Alawi stated that this program reflects the ambition of the College of Business Administration and the University of Bahrain related to integrating the concepts of the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) in all fields of education, the most important of which are management, marketing, finance, Islamic banking, and accounting. He pointed out that the program requires hard work, as the percentage of passing the preliminary courses last year was about 64% only.

During the meeting, the new students had the opportunity to get acquainted with the students previously accepted into the program. A workshop titled “Basics of the Python language” was presented by Associate Professor Dr. Murad Masadiya.

The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Prof. Hatem bin Mahmoud Al-Masry, indicated that the PhD program in business analysis aims to provide scientific competencies capable of integrating modern technology in all areas of business administration to participate effectively in providing scientific and practical advice through the Research and Consulting Unit at the university of Bahrain. The Dean extended his thanks to the students for their attendance and participation, wishing them every success to serve the University and the Kingdom of Bahrain in the field of digital transformation of the economy in Bahrain.
