In A Panel Discussion with Representatives, Shura Members, And Jurists Next Wednesday UoB Discusses Active Participation in the 2022 Elections

Under the patronage of the President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, a number of representatives, Shura members, and jurists will be participating in a panel discussion with students of UoB, titled: “Towards an Effective Participation in the Parliamentary and Municipal Elections 2022”, organized by the Deanship of Student Affairs, on Wednesday, November 2nd, 2022 at 11:00 AM, at the E-Learning Center.
The Dean of Student Affairs, Dr. Fatima Al-Maliki, stated: “This seminar aims to motivate and educate UoB students, who meet the conditions to exercise their right to vote, as this will qualify them to actively engage in public life, thus contributing to the society’s development. Also, it aims to educate students on the significance of participating in elections and their role in achieving sustainable development goals and Bahrain’s 2030 vision.”
Moreover, Dr. Al-Maliki – who will moderate the dialogue and discussion- explained that the representatives, Shura members, and jurists participating are: Shura Council member Dr. Abdulaziz Abel, Shura Council member lawyer Dalal Al-Zayed, former member of Council of Representatives, lawyer Fareed Ghazi Rafea, and assistant professor at the College of Law at UoB, Dr. Abduljabbar Ahmed Al-Tayeb, in addition to the head of the Media Committee for the 2022 elections, Counselor Ahmed Al-Modawab.
She added that the participants will discuss: the role of parliamentary and municipal elections in promoting popular participation in public affairs, the importance of participating in parliamentary and municipal elections and the exercise of political rights, the role of the Legislative and Legal Opinion Authority in the executive management of elections, as well as the participation of Bahraini women in the electoral process and their political role in society.
Dr. Al-Maliki called on students and everyone affiliated with UoB to be present and actively participate.
