An Academic Presents the UoB President with Her Publications in Literary Criticism

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, received the Assistant Professor at the Department of Arabic Language and Islamic Studies, Dr. Mai Yousef Al-Sada, who presented a number of her literary criticism publications to the University President on Thursday (November 3, 2022).
Dr. Al-Mudhahka commended the scientific and research activity of Dr. Al-Sada, noting that the professors of UoB have a valued impact within their specialized fields, and in society, whether through their various publications or participations, that spread knowledge among people.
On her part, Dr. Al-Sada praised UoB’s role in stimulating research and scientific publishing, which reflects its role, and thus the role of the Kingdom of Bahrain in enriching the Arab library with everything new in all fields, including the field of criticism.
In addition, Dr Al-Sada presented three books, namely: “The Fantastic Narrative in the Gulf’s Novels”, in which she relied on the hermeneutic approach in the analysis and connection, to show the significance of the fantastic features in novels, by analyzing the fantastic features in the text, and linking them to the writer’s intentions, as well as to the book “The Booker in the Scales of Criticism”, which is a joint book with the Bahraini novelist Rasool Darwish that includes critical studies of the winning novels of the Arab Booker Prize from 2008 to 2020, and finally the book: “The Semiotics of Interpretation in the Gulf’s Novels”, which is her PhD thesis that will be published soon.
