The College of Business Administration at the University of Bahrain (UoB) is hosting, for one year, Prof. Mohinder Dougal, Professor of Management at the Ansel School of Business at Western Connecticut State University (WCSU) at the United States for receiving a Fulbright grant.
The Head of the Administration and Marketing Department at the College of Business Administration, Dr. Mesfer Mubarak Al-Muhanadi, stressed that the affiliation of academics from higher education institutions in the United States to the department and college at UoB through Fulbright grants represents a large part of achieving the goal of international cooperation and academic partnership, which universities around the world strive to achieve. The presence of affiliated academics encourages the transfer of knowledge and experiences among faculty members, as well as graduate students, as the research interests of the affiliated professor would increase the prospects for future cooperation, such as supervision, joint supervision of research, and participation in international conferences and research.
On his part, Dr. Dougal mentioned that he chose to work for the duration of the grant on the subject of public-private partnerships, as there are many current macroeconomic trends in the Gulf region that make public-private partnerships worth studying.
In addition, Dr. Dougal looks forward to working to create research interest in the field of public-private partnerships among faculty members at UoB, as he stated that, “As both the Ansel School of Business at Western Connecticut State University and the University of Bahrain are AACSB accredited, the two institutions already have a common base for further collaboration in faculty and student exchange programs, curriculum development opportunities and more.”Dr. Dougal has a Ph.D. in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh, majoring in Strategic Management with a minor in Marketing, with over 25 years of teaching and research experience, having taught executive management, graduate and undergraduate programs of business schools at the University of Pittsburgh, West Virginia University, Fairleigh Dickinson University, Pace University, and Western Connecticut State University. In addition, he presented his research work in many prestigious global conferences and published his studies in top journals such as the Journal of Business and Economics.
