The University of Bahrain Holds the Graduation Ceremony of 584 Students from the College of Information Technology

The graduation ceremony for the students of the College of Information Technology, University of Bahrain was held on Friday January 20, 2023, as part of the graduation of the 24th batch of University of Bahrain students, which is being held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The graduates and their parents expressed their happiness at completing graduation requirements and receiving the graduation certificates.

 

The College of Information Technology celebrated the graduation of 584 female and male students in five bachelor’s programs. The ceremony held at the University included the graduation of 272 students in the Bachelor of Information Systems, 171 in the Bachelor of Computer Science, 38 in the Bachelor of software Engineering, 94 in the Bachelor of Computer Engineering, and 9 in the Bachelor of Network Engineering.

 

The Vice President for Academic Programs and Scientific Research, Dr. Mohammad Reda Qader and the Dean of the College of Information Technology handed over the graduation certificates to the graduates.

 

The celebration ceremony was filled with an atmosphere of joy, in which parents of the graduates expressed their happiness and pride in their sons and daughters. They lauded the efforts of the University of Bahrain which helped the students with their academic achievement, as well as the constant support for them in their academic career.

 

The Dean of the College of Information Technology gave a speech on this occasion, in which she congratulated the graduates and their parents, and expressed her happiness and pride. She said, “It is our pleasure to have you with us on this day, and you have come a long way in seriousness, diligence and hard work, in order to achieve success and excellence.”

 

Dr. Al-Junaid addressed the graduates, “You should be aware that you will complete what others started. The community will advance with your competencies and achievements. We are sure that you will do your best for the sake of the renaissance of Kingdom. We believe in you and shall continue to support you. We know that you are moving forward on this path in compliance with the words of God Almighty in the Holy Quran, “Among Allah’s Servants, there are those who truly fear Allah, are those who have knowledge,” and the Hadith of Prophet Mohammad, may Allah’s blessings and peace be upon him, “Whoever follows a path in pursuit of knowledge, Allah will facilitate for him a path to Paradise.”

 

Dr. Al-Junaid stressed, “The College of Information Technology has kept abreast of global developments, taking upon itself the responsibility of building a highly qualified generation that can face challenges with confidence and contribute to finding innovative solutions, which reflects the quality of the University of Bahrain’s outcomes and its contribution to achieving sustainable development goals. She stressed that the College will persistently seek to shape a new phase full of challenges and achievements, under the theme “Together towards Excellence and Innovation.”

 

For their part, the students expressed, in the graduation speech given on their behalf by the student, Mohammed Abdul-Amir Mansoor Al-Halwaji, their thanks and appreciation to the University of Bahrain. Al-Halwaji said “We are very grateful to our university, which has spared no effort to graduate a conscious generation capable of carrying out the process of modernization, and keeping pace with the qualitative shifts the Kingdom is witnessing, under the directives of Her Excellency Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, the President of the University of Bahrain, and with the tremendous efforts of the deans, heads of departments, and all academic and administrative staff of the University of Bahrain.”

Notably, the University of Bahrain is holding 20 graduation ceremonies for its students registered in the festive program, on 19-29 January 2023, with two ceremonies a day, one in the morning and the other in the evening.

 

It is worthy to note that the College of Information Technology was established in 2003. Over the past five years, 1067 students graduated from the undergraduate program, including 551 female students and 516 male students, as well as 67 from the postgraduate program. The College currently includes seven majors in the bachelor’s program, namely computer engineering, information systems, computer science, software engineering, network engineering, cybersecurity, and cloud computing. The College also offers a PhD program in Computing and Information Sciences, and four master’s programs, namely Information Technology, Cyber Security, Software Engineering and Machine Learning and Intelligent Computing.
