Dr. Al-Mudhaka: University of Bahrain Is Keen to Provide All Facilities for People with Special Needs

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhaka, confirmed the university’s keenness to provide all facilities and services that contribute to a suitable educational environment for people with special needs.

This came during her meeting the researcher Suad Khalifa Jassim, who presented the president with a copy of her master’s degree thesis in psychological counseling at UoB.

The University President commended the thesis, titled: “Effectiveness of A Social Intelligence Program on A Sample of People with Visual Disabilities in The Kingdom of Bahrain,” stating that the findings of such studies help the authorities concerned with education, to direct them in providing a quality educational environment, in addition to contributing to solving many of the difficulties that students with special needs may face.

For her part, the researcher Jassim thanked the University President for her warm reception, her encouraging words, and her interest in caring for people with disabilities and facilitating their affairs at the University.

It is worth noting that the researcher Suad received her master’s degree during the graduation ceremony of the twenty-fourth batch, which was recently organized by the University.

In addition, researcher Suad Jassim is one of the students with special needs who studied at UoB, and she graduated with a BA in Arabic language, and joined the administrative body of the Deanship of Admission and Registration at UoB in 2001, then moved to the Division of People with Disabilities in the Deanship of Student Affairs in 2020 after obtaining her master’s degree. She is a member of the Bahrain Mobility International Center and provides services to the community through artistic paintings.
