Featuring The Launch of The Arab Youth Council Award UoB Hosts the Meeting of The Board of Trustees of The Arab Youth Council

The University of Bahrain (UoB) hosted the meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Youth Council, affiliated to the Association of Arab Universities (AARU), on Thursday (March 9, 2023), which featured the launch of the Arab Youth Council Award.
The President of Prince Mohammad bin Fahd University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Council for Youth, Dr. Issa bin Hassan Al-Ansari, expressed pleasure at holding the first meeting of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Council for Youth at UoB in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Ansari stated, “The advancement of the youth sector in the Arab world is the focal point in achieving the desired progress for the Arab world, and leadership in various development sectors,” stressing that “The initiative to establish the Arab Youth Council aims to provide youth with the knowledge and capabilities that make them leaders and pioneers in their societies, as they create scientific, cultural and technical movement towards achieving the major development goals.”.
In addition, Dr. Al-Ansari thanked the President of UoB, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, for the warm reception and hospitality, and the facilities she provided for the organizing the meeting, praising the positive roles of the University in AARU.
The Arab Youth Council is chaired by Dr. Issa bin Hassan Al-Ansari, President of Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University, whose members include: H.E Professor Muammar bin Mutahar Al-Aryani, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Yemen, H.E Dr. Amr Ezzat Salameh, Secretary General of AARU, and Dr. Nasser Al-Hilal Al-Qahtani, Director General of the Arab Organization for Administrative Development at the League of Arab States, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, President of UoB, Dr. Hassan bin Rashid Al-Derham, President of Qatar University, Dr. Ghaleb Al-Rifaei, President of Al-Ain University, Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of Amman University, and Professor Hassan Mohammed Buhazaa, President of the Arab Union for Volunteering, and Dr. Khamisi Hamidi, Assistant Secretary-General of AARU
During the meeting, the statutes of the Arab Youth Council, which is based at Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, were adopted. The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Trustees of the Arab Youth Council, which seeks to provide Arab youth with the knowledge, skills and capabilities that enable them to achieve their goals and contribute to the development of their communities.
During the meeting – which was chaired by Dr. Al-Ansari and in the presence of the Secretary-General of AARU, Prof. Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama – the strategic plan of the Arab Youth Council for the period from 2023 to 2027 was discussed, in addition to the work plan for the current year. Also, the meeting included the announcement of the Arab Youth Council Award.
For her part, the President of UoB, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, praised the efforts made by the Arab Youth Council, followed by AARU, to promote youth, especially researchers among them. Moreover, she praised the active and constructive initiatives of Prince Mohammed bin Fahd University, stressing the importance of these initiatives in constructing optimal frameworks for the early preparation of leaders, in a way that helps them gain self-confidence, to contribute to the Arab development process.
