Moreover, the UoB President extended her thanks and appreciation to the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Isa bin Salman Charity Educational Endowment, His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, for his follow-up on UoB’s participation in the Bahrain International Garden Show.

Among more than 176 participants from the public and private sectors at the Bahrain International Garden Show, UoB’s pavilion focuses on introducing the public to the field of water sustainability, and ways to use the environment to renew life, with a design inspired by the water canals that were common in the local environment (Al-Saib). The shape of the pavilion embodies the alignment of horizontal lines in an undulating manner, allowing the visitor a space to roam in a space inspired by Al-Saib, and the beds of water bodies in the Bahraini environment. Also, the design provides corners that allow visitors to learn about the common reed plant, by presenting distinctive scientific experiments.

The University’s pavilion attracted many visitors, as a number of the University’s students explained the information to the visitors and introduced them to the scientific content of the University’s pavilion, which showed the importance of water, how to preserve it, renew it and purify it to ensure its sustainability. The also pavilion highlighted the reed plant (known locally as the kasbah), due to its wide positive properties and uses in purifying water from pollutants and salts.
