The University of Bahrain Wins the Award of the Best Pavilion for Educational Institutions at the Bahrain International Garden Show

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, congratulated the University affiliates on winning the Award of the Best Pavilion for Educational Institutions at the Bahrain International Garden Show 2023. She lauded the distinguished results achieved in the educational and awareness aspects of the show.

 

The Bahrain International Garden Show was held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, King of the Kingdom of Bahrain, may Allah protect him, and the support of Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King, and Chairperson of the Advisory Board of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development, at Bahrain International Exhibition and Convention Center. The Show ended on Sunday evening March 12, 2023.

 

Dr. Al Mudhahka stressed that the University of Bahrain is keen to raise community awareness on best practices in the field of environmental protection as well as optimal use of water resources and sustainability thereof in ways inspired by the local environment.

 

For his part, the Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Mohammed Mustafa El-Hilo, expressed his pride in the team of the University of Bahrain that participated in the Show and presented the scientific content to the public throughout the Show. The audience admired the pavilion of the University of Bahrain so much, due to the harmony between the pavilion’s design and content and the local environment. The pavilion embodied the Show’s theme “Water: Regenerating Life”.

 

The design of the pavilion of the University of Bahrain shed light on the importance of water and recalled the era when water represented the essence of our social life. The design is inspired by the story of the water channels which were common in Bahrain in the past. It is also inspired by the local environment. The pavilion’s scientific content focused on sustainability of water and regenerating life in ways inspired by the local environment. It also shed light on the (reed-beds) used to purify water from the various pollutants.

 

It is worthy to note that the Show, held on 9-12 March, attracted thousands of visitors, and witnessed the participation of 176 exhibitors, including 68 from Bahrain who presented designs, products, technologies, and innovations in the field of agriculture and water sustainability.
