The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al Mudhahka, confirmed the National University’s role in spreading the culture of human rights, promoting a culture of peace, coexistence and tolerance, consolidating the principles of dialogue among all members of society, and encouraging cooperation and community service.

This came within the participation of Dr. Al-Mudhahka in the works of the second edition of the Conference on Freedom of Religion and Belief, on Tuesday (May 2, 2023), which was held in cooperation between the Kingdom of Bahrain and the European Union, in the presence of senior invitees and officials.

The Conference reflects the good reputation of the Kingdom of Bahrain, owing to the visions of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the great King of the country, as a leading global model for societies based on religious, civilizational and cultural diversity and pluralism, and the steps taken by the Kingdom in protecting religious freedoms, as well as intellectual and cultural diversities, within the principles of the Constitution and the rule of law.

In the exhibition accompanying the Conference, UoB reviewed a number of photos that highlight the role of the University, its most important achievements, and its milestones over the years, on the scientific, academic and humanitarian levels.

It is worth noting that the Conference is being organized by the King Hamad Global Center for Peaceful Coexistence and the “This is Bahrain” association, over a period of three days, and focuses on three main topics: “Freedom of religion And Belief: Broadening the Horizon, the Impact of Climate Change on Freedom of Religion and Belief, and Cyberspace as a Means to Reduce Terrorism and Increase the Index of Peace Through Freedom of Religion and Belief.”.
