UoB Students Present 58 Scientific Presentations at The Postgraduate Studies Forum Dr. Al-Mudhahka: Profound Academic Programs Contribute to Supplying the Market with Creative Cadres

Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), confirmed that the University continues to advance the scientific research process, by continuing to provide distinguished programs that keep pace with the requirements of the advancement of our societies, noting that the establishment of solid academic programs contributes to supplying the local and Gulf labor market with creative cadres.

This came in her speech on the occasion of the annual forum for postgraduate students at the University, which reviews the distinguished research of postgraduate students and stands on their experiences.

The forum was recently organized by the Deanship of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research at UoB, in cooperation with the colleges, and with the participation of a student delegation from Mohammed Bin Zayed University for Human Sciences in the United Arab Emirates.

In a speech delivered on behalf of Dr. Al-Mudhahka, the Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Mohammed Reda Qader stated,: “The University is keen to hold the postgraduate studies forum, as it is one of the tools for communication and deliberation on scientific research issues,” noting that “the University is always looking for the latest methods, to keep with emerging global innovations in the field of science and knowledge, all in order to improve the University’s outputs in terms of human and knowledge capital”.

Postgraduate students made 58 scientific presentations in various postgraduate programs at the university in the annual forum, as part of simultaneous scientific sessions topped by 6 scientific papers by keynote speakers.

The Dean of Postgraduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Athra Sayed Abbas Al-Mosawi, said the forum is an interactive experience, and hopefully it will contribute to helping students form an integrated vision, and acquire knowledge skills in the field of presenting academic studies and research, enabling them to produce a scientific paper that can be published in the most prestigious international publishing houses, and prepare them for the future after their postgraduate studies in their specializations.

In her speech, Dr. Al-Mosawi said: “This forum is an opportunity for postgraduate students to have direct interaction, exchange research experiences and share them in various fields of specialization. The forum represents an opportunity to highlight the important role that scientific research represents at the level of postgraduate studies in achieving the strategic goals of the University of Bahrain.”.

Furthermore, Latifa Al-Abbasi, a student in the Master’s program in Cyber Security at the College of Information Technology at the University, reviewed her experience in studying a master’s degree at the National University, noting the excellence study experience thanks to the highly qualified and experienced professors, the rich materials, and the capabilities and facilities provided by the University to students.

Moreover, she said, “In the Master’s degree in cybersecurity, we studied several topics, including: network security, information security management, encryption, and cyber forensics.”.

Pointing out that her research – to design a smart employee supported by artificial intelligence to serve e-government customers – was published in scientific events.

Additionally, Al-Abbasi gave several tips inspired by her experience, including: the importance of thinking about the study thesis from the start, leaning towards innovation and reinvention, and choosing a supervisor specialized in the subject of the study.
