An Academic from UoB a Keynote Speaker at An International Conference in Kuwait

Associate Professor at the Bahrain Teachers College (BTC) at the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Masooma Ali Al-Mutawah, recently participated as a keynote speaker in the activities of the first international conference, titled “Sustainable Educational Development in light of Kuwait Vision 2035”, which was held under the patronage and attendance of the Minister of Education and the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Dr. Hamad Abdulwahhab Al-Adwani, organized by the Office of Practical Education in the College of Basic Education at the Public Authority for Applied Education and Training in the State of Kuwait.
In her paper titled “Integration of Contemporary Concepts of Sustainable Development into Education,” Dr. Al-Mutawah discussed several topics, the most important of which are: the new visions required in education to achieve sustainability, the key concepts of sustainability in education, the pillars of education for sustainability, and what needs to be developed in educational curricula to achieve sustainability.
While the two-days conference dealt with several topics, including: the relationship between education and sustainable development, the crisis of education and sustainable development and its role in building the future of education, assessing the current situation of education and training in the Arab Gulf states, and activating the joint Arab role by presenting the experiences of some countries and benefiting from their expertise in planning future visions, in line with the aspirations of the countries of the region, in order to achieve sustainable education.
Scientific and educational sessions and interactive workshops were held at the Conference, presented by lecturers from several countries.
