The University of Bahrain and the United Nations Development Program Discuss Cooperation

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, discussed with the Acting Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Program Bahrain, Firas Gharaibeh, aspects of cooperation regarding sustainable development programs.

 

During the meeting held on Tuesday June 13, 2023, Dr. Al-Ansari stressed the importance of cooperation between the two parties in integrating the concepts and principles of sustainable development into the educational process, which would help faculty members and students actively participate in providing appropriate solutions, in their respective field, to achieve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s goals and aspirations in sustainable development. He pointed out that the University has long been linking its scientific and youth activities with the goals of sustainable development.

 

For his part, Gharaibeh noted the University’s main role in providing a brilliant and sustainable future for the community and spreading awareness of the role of education in achieving the goals of sustainable and comprehensive development. He stressed the keenness of the United Nations Development Program to transfer knowledge, build capacities, exchange ideas, protect rights and provide appropriate educational and professional environment, within the framework of the national development plan.

 

The meeting was attended by Prof. Mohammad Reda Qader, Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, Dean of the College of Law, Dr. Salah Mohammad Ahmed, Dean of the College of Science, Dr. Mohammad Mustafa Al-Hilo, Director of the Media Center, Dr. Mazen Mohammad Ali, and Head of the Department of English Language and Literature, Dr. Ghada Ahmed Jassim from UoB, and Senior Officer for Development Programs, Jahan Al-Murbati from the United Nations Development Program.
