Dr. Al-Jowder Stresses that Agile Leadership Improves Vocational Training Programs in Educational Institutions

Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemical Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Bahrain, Dr. Raed Ibrahim Al-Jowder, stressed the importance of adopting the principle of iterations in education, encouraging experimentation and innovation, and student-centered education. He noted that this method contributes to meeting the needs of students.
Dr. Al-Jowder made this statement in a lecture he recently gave at the premises of Nasser Center for Rehabilitation and Vocational Training, under the title, “Agile Leadership”, in which 14 members of the Center’s senior management participated.
Agile leadership in education, according to Dr. Al-Jowder, is one of the modern terms derived from programming and computer sciences. It is an administrative approach aimed at improving teaching and learning processes, through providing effective and innovative educational experiences in a timely manner. Dr. Al-Jowder said that agile leadership is an approach that requires continuous collaboration and interaction between all partners of the educational process, while focusing on continuous change, achieving clear goals, promoting innovation, and adapting to rapid transformations in the community and technology.
Dr. Al-Jowder stressed the importance of promoting agile leadership practices in vocational training institutions, through continuous feedback, the use of technology, holding industrial partnerships, the adoption of evaluation standards, and benefiting from strategies that ensure that educational organizations are updating their programs effectively.
Dr. Al-Jowder explained that agile leadership aims to improve collaboration between administrators, teachers, and students, to create supportive learning environments and partnerships, and promote the principles of agile leadership, through increasing the participation of students in practical educational activities. He pointed to the promotion of agile leadership by adopting a flexible and adaptable approach in education, which would enable educational institutions to quickly respond to the changing circumstances.
The lecture addressed several issues, most notably are preparing the timetable for agile leadership, the four core values of agile leadership, the benefits of agile leadership in the education sector, how to create an agile organization, and the basic principles of agile leadership. Dr. Al-Jowder called for developing a common vision, providing training and support, enhancing collaboration, and forming work teams to enable vocational training institutions to successfully implement the principles of agile leadership.
