The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, congratulated the College of Science and its officials on obtaining “Credible” rating for six of its academic programs after being reviewed by the Education & Training Quality Authority for the second cycle, conducted at the end of 2022.

Dr. Al-Ansari extended his thanks to the faculty, concerned committees, advisory committees, alumni, and students for their tireless efforts to meet the requirements of quality and academic accreditation.
Dr. Al-Ansari stated, “The NQF placement shows that the outcomes of these programs provide graduates with skills and capabilities that enable them to engage in the labor market and contribute to the development process.” He stressed that, “The university’s colleges will seek to develop, improve, and update study plans to raise the standards of graduates.”
The University of Bahrain aims, within a specific time frame, to place all its programs on the National Qualifications Framework. It will also seek to obtain international accreditations for all its programs.
For his part, the Dean of the College of Science, Prof. Mustafa Mohammad Al-Hilo, said that one of the College of Science’s top priorities is to improve its academic programs to meet all quality assurance requirements. Prof. Al-Hilo stated that obtaining “Credible” rating is the outcome of the continuous and tireless efforts of the College’s academians, administrators, and students in the various academic departments and disciplines.
Prof. Al-Hilo pointed out that this achievement shows that graduates of these programs can pursue postgraduate studies in prestigious international universities worldwide and reflects the validity and efficiency of these programs which guarantee that the graduate shall obtain the skills required in the labor market.
Prof. Al-Hilo noted “Reviewing academic programs is a periodic process carried out by the Education & Training Quality Authority every five years. Obtaining the “credible” rating proves the programs could satisfy strict criteria in many respects, including teaching and assessment methods, scientific content, learning outcomes, and resources. He stressed that this achievement also proves that the study plans of these programs are in line with other similar programs offered by prestigious international universities and that they are compatible with the labor market.
It is worthy to note that the four undergraduate programs of the College obtained academic accreditation from international accreditation bodies, including ASIIN and the Canadian Society of Chemistry (CSC). They are also placed on the National Qualifications Framework, and they obtained “credible” rating in the first cycle of the Education & Training Quality Authority review conducted in 2017.
