The Dean of the College of Information Technology at the University of Bahrain, Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, stressed the great importance the university attaches to enhancing students’ practical skills, as well as enhancing their experiences, and raising their capabilities, consistent with the rapid technological developments, and in line with the local and international future needs.

Dr. Al-Junaid presented over 88 students with the Huawei Academy certificates during the ceremony that honored students who passed the lessons, courses and exams on the Academy’s platform in the disciplines of: artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fifth generation networks, and digital data networks.

Dr. Al-Junaid explained in her speech that “the global Huawei Academy courses increase student’s knowledge in their field of specialization, and also add to it all that is new. This certificate is valuable in the labor market, and may give priority to the student in job opportunities.” In this context, she called on students to take advantage of the modern educational technologies provided by the global Huawei Global Academy, newly established at the University of Bahrain.

Huawei’s representative in the Middle East, Julie Paul, attended the ceremony held at the college’s headquarters.

The University of Bahrain has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Huawei to benefit from an ICT academy, develop academic materials and laboratories, and align the learning experience with the expected level, which requires familiarity with a set of current and future applied skills.

This MoU calls for enhancing cooperation between the two parties to provide advanced training courses through the Academy for both academic staff and students.
