He called on the students to improve their qualifications and competencies in information and communication technology to achieve professional excellence in the world of financial services, such as excelling in the Excel program and learning about the latest programs such as Microsoft PowerBI.
This came during a symposium organized by the Accounting Department at the College of Business Administration at UOB, titled “Practical Insights on Financial Auditing”, in cooperation with KPMG Bahrain, in which Radhi stressed the importance of auditing for society, which guarantees investors and creditors that the company’s funds are being handled appropriately, and helps in maintaining company records and checking books of accounts. Furthermore, he added that auditing protects the public from investing in companies with corrupt business practices, and audit professionals reduce the risks of misinformation to stakeholders.
For his part, the company’s audit Associate, Ali Gherbal, shared his experience and challenges in the auditing profession, stressing the importance of professional certifications such as: the certification of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Public Accountant (CPA), and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
