On this occasion, His Excellency the Minister stressed the importance of introducing students to the types of jobs and professions required in the current and future local and global labor market, and the scientific knowledge and training skills they require that qualify them to obtain these jobs and enable them to compete for them, considering the rapid changes in the market.
His Excellency the Minister of Education, accompanied by the University President and a number of officials, toured the exhibitors’ stalls, where he was briefed on the job opportunities offered by the participating entities, which are commensurate with UoB’s outputs. Moreover, he praised the support of institutions and companies for this event, which guides students and graduates to what the labor market needs of human resources, in line with life’s rapid development.
For his part, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of UoB, indicated that the Career Fair has become a window through which the university looks at the reality of the labor market requirements, and a bridge between the University and society, pointing out that a large number of students have reaped the benefits of this Fair, by finding jobs that suit their specializations. In addition, he introduced others to the occupational and training requirements of the labor market, emphasizing the efforts made to make this event a success, which has been going on for about twenty years.
Dr. Al-Ansari added that the labor market is witnessing remarkable development as a result of the rapidly developing technology that has changed the face of many professions and jobs, noting the importance of identifying what the market needs in terms of educational competencies and specializations that contribute to training students and graduates, in a way that is commensurate with those job opportunities, noting that the Career Fair is an annual forum that allows the University’s students to communicate and meet with institutions and companies from the public and private sectors.
In its twentieth edition, 43 companies and institutions are participating in the Career Fair, led by Foulath Company, the gold sponsor, 16 silver sponsors, and 26 bronze sponsors. The Fair is expected to witness the participation of more than 4,000 students over its three days.
The Fair aims to document communication between UoB and institutions and companies, introduce the University’s students to the various companies and institutions in the labor market, and work regulations and laws, and encourage them to join the jobs approved by institutions within the various work sectors, in addition to introducing them to the training and development programs in those institutions.
The organizers of the three-day fair are looking forward to creating quality opportunities for graduates, introducing employers and various institutions to UoB’s outputs and the programs offered therein, and involving these institutions in various activities and events at the University, in a way that achieves convergence between the aspirations of the students and graduates of UoB, and the requirements of the companies and institutions in the labor market sector.
