IJCDS At UoB Achieves Remarkable Progress on Scopus Global Index

The International Journal of Computing and Digital Systems (IJCDS), issued by the College of Information Technology at the University of Bahrain (UoB), made progress on the impact factor in the global scientific publishing database (Scopus), as it rose to 1.7 points, while the impact factor of the journal did not exceed 0.3 in the previous issue, as the journal was included in the Scopus global scientific publishing database in 2018.

On this occasion, Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of UoB, congratulated editors of IJCDS, on this remarkable achievement within a short period after its launch, stressing the seriousness of the editorial team and their constant keenness on the distinction and sobriety of the journal’s publications, as it was able, during the previous period, to attract numerous international scientists, researchers, and arbitrators, who contributed to enriching the scientific journal with solid research.

For her part, Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, Dean of the College of Information Technology at UoB and journal’s Editor-in-Chief, stated that such progress reflects the journal’s commitment to supporting the highest standards of academic accuracy and providing a distinguished platform for researchers to publish their advanced work. In addition, she stressed that the journal has witnessed a noticeable transformation in recent years, on the qualitative and quantitative levels, in the field of academic publishing.

Dr. Al-Junaid explained that the journal used to publish six articles during its launch in 2012, then the number of published articles gradually increased to 245 articles in the fields of information technology in the year 2023, adding that the journal’s achieving the classification of Q4 with an h index of 5 in the year 2021 comes within the framework of notable achievements in the journal’s indicators, in addition to its progress over Q3 and a high h-index of 14 in the year 2022.

As the impact factor measures the number of citations to research included in the scientific journal or periodical on the “Scopus” database.
