Department of “Media” at the University of Bahrain places 8 of its students’ creations at the Ministry of Information

The Department of Media, Tourism and Fine Arts at the College of Arts at the University of Bahrain announced that it has registered and submitted eight of its students’ creative projects to the Ministry of Information, as works owned by students.
This step comes within the University of Bahrain’s directions towards enhancing the maintenance of intellectual property, encouraging students and graduates to innovate, and make their way in the field of entrepreneurship.
Mrs. Samar Adel Alabyooki, a lecturer in the Department of Media, Tourism and Arts, and the media legislation course teacher, led this initiative, encouraging students to place their creative outputs at the ministry.
The students in the department, especially students from the Media Legislation Course (MCO301), showed remarkable interaction with the initiative aimed at implementing part of the content of the Media Legislation Course, and the results were encouraging, as eight projects were registered during the first semester of the current academic year 2023/2024.
The process of registering works included eight out of nine projects, submitted to the concerned authorities at the Ministry of Information, and they are various creations, including: electronic applications, drawings, and short stories.
Dr. Alabyooki said: “There is no doubt that this experience increases students’ confidence in their work and abilities, facilitates the process of entering the labor market, and establishing their own businesses, in addition the placment process protects the intellectual property rights of the owner.”
The list of placed works included: stories with dark endings by student Sadiq Abdullah Mohsen, Aoun electronic application by student Aisha Ali Al-Buainain, bicycle roads application by student Anoud Nasser Mubarak, craft spot (boqaat al-heraf) application by student Fadila Saleh Al-Basri, (Manadib) application by student Ahmed Abdul Raqib Mohsen, Tourista application by student Salam Ali Khaled, my health (Sahti) application by student Hussein Mahmoud Hussein, National Day drawing by student Noura Muhammad Al-Sabahi, and cover of a workbook by student Kawthar Abdul Karim.
