Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari, President of the University of Bahrain (UOB), confirmed that successful student graduation projects are a result of concerted student efforts and diligent work under the supervision of distinguished professors, noting that the University’s College of Engineering is witnessing progress in students’ achievements, as well as development in their project ideas and how they are presented year after year.

This came during his speech at the graduation projects exhibition for students of the College of Engineering at UOB for the academic year 2023/2024, which was organized by the College with the participation of members of the academic and administrative bodies, students, and their parents.

The College’s students presented 80 distinguished engineering projects in the second semester, within six academic programs: mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, process instrumentation and control, civil engineering, electrical engineering, and electronic engineering.

The projects had a variety of topics, as they examined different engineering topics that serve the labor market and the industrial sector by focusing on the field of generating and improving energy efficiency, renewable energy, and environmental sustainability, and included new qualitative additions such as: designing smart systems for monitoring and control, frequency analysis in engines, energy recovery systems, waste management systems, development of marine robots, solar water desalination, and designing a device to test solar thermal catchments.

Moreover, Al-Ansari handed appreciation shields and certificates to eighteen graduation projects at the opening ceremony of the exhibition, which was held under the auspices of Abdul Rahim Al-Kooheji Charity Foundation and Ibrahim Khalil Kanoo Company.

All student projects were evaluated by arbitration committees, consisting of UOB professors, in addition to external arbitrators of engineering professionals in the private sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
