A Program Organized at Seef Mall on Thursday UoB Invites the Public to Participate in The Celebration of World Diabetes Day

Dr. Lina Mohammed Khenji, Dean of the College of Health and Sports Sciences (CHSS) at the University of Bahrain (UoB), called on UoB affiliates as well as citizens and residents of the Kingdom of Bahrain to participate and benefit from the World Diabetes Day celebration program, which will be held on Thursday (17 November 2022), at the Seef Mall in Manama, from three in the afternoon until nine in the evening, under the slogan: “Learn Today to Be Safe Tomorrow.”
The program will include several platforms, through which the health condition of participants and visitors of the mall will be assessed, such as: measuring blood sugar, vital signs, and measuring body mass, in addition to a health education platform for the prevention of diabetes and its types, the most important symptoms and causes of the disease, as well as the importance of preventing it, how to follow a healthy and athletic lifestyle, and how to deal with psychological stress. it will also include awareness activities aimed at promoting health and preventing diabetes in the Bahraini community.
Dr. Khenji stated that: “The Department of Nursing at the College of Health and Sports Sciences at the University of Bahrain will organize a program aimed at awareness and education, which comes within the framework of the University’s keenness to participate in raising community awareness of diabetes, and in support of the efforts made by health institutions in the Kingdom of Bahrain to promote diabetes awareness.”.
On November 14 of each year, the world celebrates World Diabetes Day, which is a global day to raise awareness on the dangers of diabetes. On this day, the focus is given to topics related to diabetes and human rights, diabetes and modern lifestyle, diabetes and obesity, diabetes in the weak and malnourished, and diabetes in children and adolescents.
