Academics Explore New Exam Design and Evaluation Criteria at UOB

The Unit of Teaching Excellence and Leadership at the University of Bahrain recently organized a workshop for academics titled ‘Fundamentals of Exam Design and Evaluation Criteria.’ The workshop focused on key principles and best practices for designing exams and establishing appropriate evaluation criteria to assess academic performance.
During the workshop, participants explored the purposes of assessing student performance, methods for measuring the assessment process, and practiced designing and developing standards and criteria for evaluating student tasks. The academics were introduced to the principles of test design and how to analyze test items based on professional standards and guidelines to assess student competencies and skills.
The workshop was led by Dr. Hasan Mohsin Al-Wadi, Associate Professor at Bahrain Teachers College, and Dr. Zainab Abdul Ameer Al-Laith, Assistant Professor at Bahrain Teachers College, University of Bahrain.
