OVERVIEW

Since the establishment of the University of Bahrain on 24 May 1986, the University’s senior management has attached a growing importance to developing the human element in order to raise the level of quality, efficiency and excellence in its work, and that is to achieve the University’s mission and vision for which it was established by Decree Law No. 12 of 1986.

In general, the Training Office has gone through different phases, as it used to be the Department of Training and Development, then was included in several and multiple organizational structures and frameworks until the Administrative Training Office was established with its current form in 2005 and was included in the organizational structure of the University under the management of the Vice President for Information Technology, Administrative and Financial Affairs.

The Administrative Training Office has been entrusted with the responsibility of training the University’s employees with the aim of raising the academic level and functional and cognitive performance and enhancing the capabilities and skills of employees.

To make that happen, the Administrative Training Office seeks to study the training needs by submitting a (training needs survey form) to be filled out by the organizational units at the University from academic departments, centers and administrative departments, and then to be submitted to the Training Office to study and review it and build a studied plan based on the needs presented by departments.

The Training Office strives to meet such needs by offering programs and training courses, attending conferences and exploratory visits in the fields of public administration, information technology, specialized fields, technical and professional fields, English language and self-development, in cooperation with the competent authorities inside and outside the University, according to the allocated budget and financial capabilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. First, the training needs of the University’s employees are identified through an analytical survey by filling out the (training needs of employees’ survey form (AR)     (PDF، 0.2 MB، 2 Pages)).
  2. Based on the analysis of the training needs, the annual training plan is prepared, and administrative training programs are organized, whether inside or outside the University by filling out the (training course implementation form (AR)     (PDF، 0.3 MB، 1 Page) ) with the implementing agencies.
  3. Circulating various training offers within the University electronically and on paper by sending the circular to all deanships, colleges, centers, departments, and offices at the University attached with the (training nomination form (AR)     (PDF، 0.1 MB، 1 Page) ).
  4. Follow up on employee enrollment in training programs.
  5. Survey all Administrative training activities and provide a comprehensive database for them.
  6. Complete the financial procedures regarding the payment of fees for internal and external training courses.
  7. Evaluating the performance of trainees and the various training programs at the end of the training programs and courses by the (trainee performance evaluation form (AR)     (PDF، 0.4 MB، 1 Page) ).
  8. Prepare reports and statistics of the University’s employees training on a regular basis and submit them to the requesting parties within the University.
  9. The University’s Administrative Training Office shall maintain a record of the training courses evaluations and prepare reports about them (training course evaluation form (AR)     (PDF، 0.1 MB، 3 Pages) ).
