“American Studies” At UoB Organizes a Creative Writing Session
The American Studies Center (ASC) at the University of Bahrain (UoB) invited students wishing to develop creative writing skills to register in a session to develop creative writing skills in poetry, storytelling, and theater. The session is scheduled to be in the second semester of the current academic year 2020/2021, via virtual broadcast.
This session comes within the framework of cooperation between UoB represented by ASC, and the College of Charleston in Virginia in the United States of America, which will be presented by Professor of Creative Writing at the College of Charleston, Prof. Bret Lott.
In this context, the Dean of the College of Arts at UoB, Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Bulaila, called on students from all disciplines at the University wishing to develop their writing skills in the various literary arts (storytelling, poetry, and theater) to register by contacting ASC at UoB.
Dr. Bulaila praised the success of the creative writing program during the past three years, stating that “The program has proven its success by encouraging creative writing and publishing students’ fiction, poetry and theatrical writings in a book that is printed and distributed in the United States and countries around the world,” explaining that the session duration is two months, during which UoB students are trained with the students of the College of Charleston.
Also, Dr. Bulaila indicated that the College of Arts aspires to develop the creative writing program into a sub-specialty taught in both languages (Arabic and English), and then to develop them into a bachelor’s program with television and film directing.
