An American Magazine Chooses the Head of Computer Engineering Department at the UoB amongst Arab Artificial Intelligence Experts in 2022

MIT Technology Review Arabia has chosen the head of the Computer Engineering Department, College of Information Technology, University of Bahrain, Dr. Fatima Abdul Qader Al Balooshi amongst the list of the most prominent Arab artificial intelligence experts in 2022.

The list, issued for the first time, included the 30 top Arab figures in the field of artificial intelligence in the public, private, and academic sectors, at the Arab level.

MIT Technology Review was established in 1899. MIT Technology Review Arabia was launched in 2018, in cooperation with the Dubai Future Foundation. MIT Technology Review is wholly owned by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA.

MIT Technology Review has chosen the experts based on several criteria, most notably of which are experience and practice in the field of artificial intelligence, contributing to expanding adoption of artificial intelligence technologies in the various sectors, working to launch start-ups based on this technology, trying to simplify the science of artificial intelligence technology, and helping researchers and young entrepreneurs understand artificial intelligence technology.

Dr. Al Balooshi’s areas of interest include object detection and tracking, image processing, medical image segmentation, and 3D reconstruction. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Bahrain, a Master’s degree in Electronic Communications and Computer Engineering from the University of Nottingham, USA, and a PhD in Computer Engineering from the University of Dayton, USA in the field of Computer Vision.
