Learn all about preventative security measures to ensure the safety and security in UoB campus in this detailed guide.

Student Services:

  1. Assist students within the university as much as possible and facilitate their affairs upon request.
  2. Facilitate student traffic during rush hours
  3. Guide students to university facilities.
  4. Refill the flat tires with air in order to reach the nearest repair shop.
  5. Charge students' car batteries when low on charge, in order to reach the nearest repair shop.
  6. Receive lost items from throughout the university and hand them over to their owners when asked about them at the Security and Safety Department.
Students are required to:
  1. Present the ID card while entering campus.
  2. Wear the ID card on campus.
  3. Renew the university ID card sticker at the beginning of each semester.
  4. Adhere to traffic laws and not hinder traffic.
  5. Respect security personnel and follow their instructions in case of diversion and the like.
  6. Avoid wrong parking.
  7. Avoid parking on sidewalk
  8. Avoid driving in the opposite direction.
  9. Use student parking, don’t double park.
  10. Avoid reckless driving (drifting).
  11. Avoid using loudspeakers on campus.
  12. Avoid excessive speeding and sharp and sudden turns.

Emergency Guide

Fire prevention

A fire occurs when fuel, sufficient air and heat are brought together. If one of the three essentials is missing free cannot occur.

  1. It is the duty of all employees to report evidence to report evidence of fire hazards and to familiarize themselves with the location and proper use of all firefighting equipment, fire alarm boxes and exists in the immediate vicinity of work.
  2. Good housekeeping is one the most effective aides to fire prevention. Waste paper, regs and other combustible materials should not be allowed to accumulate.
  3. Flammable liquids shall be kept in approved safety cans and identified with proper labels including precautions for use and stored in proper places.
  4. Open flams and smoking are prohibited in all areas where flammable liquids or gasses are stored or being used. Such areas shall be posted with appropriate warning signs.
Safety Precautions for Laboratory Users:
  1. Proper organization is crucial in the laboratory.
  2. Eating is prohibited in the laboratory for the risk of toxic contamination.
  3. Never use laboratory appliances in drinking.
  4. Wash hands frequently, especially before eating, and when any skin problem occurs, see a doctor immediately.
  5. Smoking is prohibited in the laboratory.
  6. Never conduct a new experiment without the laboratory coordinator’s approval.
  7. Verify the risks resulting from the materials or procedures you will perform in advance.
  8. Verify the operating process of any device before starting to use it.
  9. Never leave any device operating unattended to avoid dangers.
  10. Use safety tools even if the amount of materials you will use is very small.
  11. Never taste harmful chemicals through the mouth, only use mechanical devices.
  12. After completing the experiments and examinations, turn off the water and gas taps and turn off the electrical appliances you used.
  13. In case of heavy leakage of toxic chemicals, close the laboratory door, then inform the official and, if possible, open the vapor ventilation cupboard.
  14. Storing chemicals is of paramount importance, leave that to the supervisor.
  15. Never use oil or lubricants for cylinder valves.
  16. Ensure the safety of all electrical appliances and if in doubt, tell the laboratory supervisor immediately.
  17. When in doubt of any gas leakage from the laboratory equipment, close the primary source and inform the supervisor directly to perform the necessary tests.
