Discussing Areas of Joint Scientific Cooperation and Academic Exchange UoB Receives a Delegation from The Most Prestigious Universities in The State of Israel

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, expressed her aspiration to benefit from the experience of universities in the State of Israel in the research and academic fields, especially that some Israeli universities are ranked among the top 100 universities in the world.
The President received on Wednesday (June 29, 2022), a delegation from prestigious Israeli universities, namely: Tel Aviv University, Bar Ilan University, Haifa University, and Reichmann University, visiting the Kingdom of Bahrain, with the aim of enhancing cooperation between the two sides in the educational and scientific fields, led by the Ambassador of the State Israel to the Kingdom of Bahrain, Mr. Eitan Na’eh.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka welcomed the delegation of Israeli universities, pointing to the common desire to build bridges of scientific cooperation, and to exchange experiences and expertise in the research and academic fields, stressing that the National University of Bahrain has ambitious plans, and would like to cooperate with international universities in areas that are a priority for the Kingdom of Bahrain and in the interest of the role of the National University in the economic vision of the Kingdom 2030.
While Ambassador Eitan Na’eh believed that this initial meeting is promising and could be the basis to further development of cooperation between universities in both countries and finding shared spaces on more than one academic track.
For his part, the delegation – which was accompanied by a number of representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Higher Education Council – expressed its pleasure with visiting UoB, and learning about its experience, and extended its thanks for the good reception and hospitality it received. In addition, members of the delegation gave a description of their universities and possible areas of cooperation between the two parties, including the exchange of professors and students, and the creation of common areas for research that serve the two countries.
The meeting was attended by UoB’s Vice President for Community Service and Alumni Affairs, Dr. Mohammed Saleh Al-Ansari, the Vice President for Information Technology Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, the Vice President for Academic Programs and Graduate Studies, Dr. Mohammed Reda Qadir, the Dean of the College of Arts, Dr. Abdulaziz Mohammed Bulaila, the Dean of Bahrain Teachers College, Dr. Ted Brenton, Adviser to the President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Dia’a Saqer Al-Jalahma, and Dr. Amal Al-Rayes from the College of Information Technology.
In addition to the Ambassador, the meeting was attended by the Political Affairs Officer at the Embassy of Israel in Manama, Sher Sadeh, and from the Council of Higher Education, Sheikh Abdullah bin Khalid Al Khalifa, Head of Liaison in the Office of the Secretary-General of the Higher Education Council, Senior Educational Specialist at the Higher Education Council, Nour Al-Hadi, and the Third Secretary from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mohammed Ali Ismail.
The delegation of Israeli universities included Tel Aviv University Vice President Prof. Millet Shamir, Assistant President of Bar Ilan University Prof. Moshe Lowenstein, Director of Marketing and Head of Shenkar Continuing Education Engineering and Design Prof. Dr. Ubud Chai, Executive Director of the International School of Bar Ilan University Ofer Dahan, Prof. Froma Zachs, and Professor Dr. Yaval Ben-Passat from the Department of Middle Eastern History at the University of Haifa, and Director of International Relations at Bar Ilan Yale Toledano University.
