Distinguished in areas of education, research, waste management and infrastructure UOB advances 93 Ranks in the World Global University Ranking for Sustainability Green Metric for 2024

The University of Bahrain ranked first in the Kingdom of Bahrain on the 2024 UI Green Metric World University Ranking (UI Green Metric – 2024), and 291 worldwide out of 1477 universities from 95 countries.
Dr. Fuad Mohammed Al-Ansari the President of the University of Bahrain, congratulated UOB affiliates and the University’s team working on the Green Metric classification, on UOB’s remarkable progress. The University has made significant progress due to the implementation of several projects that have upgraded sustainability measures in line with the University Strategic Plan 2023-2026 and Bahrain’s Economic Vision 2023, which are based on key principles of sustainability, competitiveness and equity.
The University excelled in education and research, where it received (100%), and made remarkable progress in waste management achieving (91%). Regarding infrastructure, UOB received (86%), and in water management it received (85%).
Furthermore, the University made significant progress in transport, reaching (65%). The university seeks to further progress in energy and climate change, which reached (41%), through implementation of several projects in renewable energy.
