Dr. Al-Mudhaki Discusses with Dr. Askar Ways of Supporting Athletes and Technicians of UoB Students

During a meeting with the CEO of Bahrain’s General Sports Authority, Dr. Abdulrahman Sadiq Askar, the President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhaki, discussed ways of supporting administrative, technical and sports cadres of UoB students participating in the national teams.
This meeting comes within the framework of the directives of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, first Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, to the University of Bahrain to provide support to university students participating in the national teams.
In the meeting held on Monday 20 June 2022, the two parties discussed ways to facilitate the participation of technicians and players of UoB with the national teams so that they can best represent the University, achieve outstanding results for the Kingdom of Bahrain in various sports forums and championships.
Participants in the meeting reviewed the plan of developing the academic curricula of Physical Education, in line with the Kingdom’s policies in the field of sports, to enhance collaboration between the Authority and the University for the sake of advancing the national sports system.
The two parties also discussed the aspirations of the Kingdom of Bahrain in the sports field, to prepare qualified athletes in various fields of sport sciences, intensify efforts to enhance the involvement of UoB students in sport fields, and prepare students to participate in sports competitions and events. Discussions included the university’s plans to develop various disciplines of sport sciences curricula in accordance with international standards, the Kingdom’s needs for diversity in disciplines and practices related to the sports field, and meeting the needs of the labor market in this field.
The meeting was attended by the Vice President of the University of Bahrain for Information Technology Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs, Dr. Osama Abdulla Al-Jowder, Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Mohammad Reda Qader, Dean of Student Affairs Dr. Fatima Mohammad Al-Malki, and Dean of the College of Health and Sports Sciences, Dr. Lina Muhammad Khonji, from the side of Uob.
The General Sports Authority was represented by Dr. Askar, Chief of Legal Affairs and Licensing at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Affairs, Rashid Abdullatif Al-Zayani, and Yousef Duaij Mehwarfi, Head of the Initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad in the Media Office of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
