Dr. Al Saqer Wins Second Place in Rashid bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science

Dr. Layla Hassan Al Saqer, Assistant Professor of Public Relations at the University of Bahrain, won second place in the 35th Rashid Bin Humaid Award for Culture and Science. Her Award-winning research was titled ‘Analyzing the Culture and Crisis Communication in Bahrain’s Private and Public Institutions.’

Dr. Al Saqer, who competed with more than 200 researchers and academics from the GCC countries, expressed her delight at winning the Award.

Her study examined the culture of public relations in Bahrain, the strategic role it plays in institutions as well as the impact of globalization and technology on pubic relations. Dr. Al Saqer proposed a holistic approach to institutional crisis communication, based on proper research and practical application.

She has taught courses such as Public Relations Management, Social Marketing Campaigns, Writing for Public Relations, International Public Relations and Diplomacy. She has also published several research papers.
