Dr. Ghada Jassim appointed Director of the English Language Center

Assistant Professor of English Language Dr. Ghada Ahmed Jassim, has recently been appointed Director of the English Language Center.

Dr. Ghada Jassim joined the academic faculty in 2002. She received her PhD in linguistics from Lancaster University, UK, in 2012 in a study entitled “Classification of English Texts Available at BNC (British National Corpus)”. She received a Master’s degree in Applied Linguistics through Linguistic Analysis of Legal Texts at the University of Bahrain in 2006.

She has presented a number of scientific papers at international conferences in Britain, Belgium and Norway. She also published a joint research with professors from Lancaster University to study the methodology of classification of Arabic texts. Dr. Jassim is a member of the Board of Directors of Bahrain Teachers College.

Dr. Jassim has taught a number of undergraduate courses in Grammar, Applied Linguistics and most of the branches of Modern Linguistics. She has also participated in the arbitration of a number of researches submitted to the periodicals and global forums, and worked in a number of committees, at the departmental and university levels. She has received many awards in the field of education during her career.
