Dean of the College of Information Technology at University of Bahrain Meets Vice President of Government Affairs at STC Bahrain

The Dean of the College of Information Technology, University of Bahrain, Dr. Hessa Jassim Al-Junaid, met with Vice President of Government Affairs at STC Bahrain, Shaikh Ziyad Al Khalifa, in the framework of preparing and getting ready for the “5th International Conference on Innovation and Intelligence for Informatics, Computing and Technologies (3ICT 2022)”, scheduled to be held virtually on Sunday and Monday November 20-21, 2022, with the support of STC Bahrain.

Dr. Al-Junaid welcomed Shaikh Ziyad Al Khalifa and the accompanying delegation, expressing her happiness with the fruitful and constructive collaboration with many national institutions that contribute to community service and support the development of higher education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. She stressed that the University of Bahrain is proud of the constructive and permanent collaboration with STC Bahrain with the aim of improving the University students’ level of education and academic achievement, and to achieve the Kingdom of Bahrain’s sustainable development goals.

For his part, Shaikh Ziyad bin Faisal Al Khalifa, Vice President for Government Affairs at STC Bahrain, lauded the University events and conferences held to develop the skills of youth and the teaching staff, which would advance development and education in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He also stressed the importance of focusing on innovation, artificial intelligence, computing, and technologies, to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain’s position in the region.

The College of Information Technology, University of Bahrain, will organize the “5th International Conference on Innovation and Intelligence for Informatics, Computing and Technologies”, in collaboration with Edge Hill University, King Abdulaziz University, Sultan Qaboos University and Dubai University, and the technical support of the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), and the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET)

The conference aims to provide a platform for researchers and industry practitioners to exchange the latest advances in the field of computing and informatics, discuss advanced technologies and innovative research, present the latest findings in this field, and foresee the future of the sector.

Participants will discuss several topics, including artificial intelligence, financial technology, cloud computing, cybersecurity, blockchain, big data, innovations and technologies, the Internet of things, women in technology, smart cities, informatics, software engineering, communications and networking, robotics, and e-learning during the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic.

The meeting was attended by Mrs. Laila Janahi, Director of Corporate Social Responsibility at STC Bahrain, and Dr. Hussain Mohsen Alarayedh, Chairperson of the Information Systems Department, College of Information Technology, Dr. Mazen Mohammad Ali, Director of the Media Center, Head of the Information Technology Department at the Information Technology Center, Suhaib Mohammad Al-Abdi, and the technology specialist at the College of Information Technology, Ali Daoud Al-Shaabani.
