Dr. Mudhahka Stresses the Importance of Achieving More Compatibility with the Actual Needs of the Industrial Sector

The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, stressed that the University is keen to develop engineering education, to achieve more compatibility with the actual needs of the industrial sector and provide students with critical and creative thinking skills.
Upon receiving the President of the Bahraini Society of Engineers, Dr. Raeda Sayed Kazim Al-Alawi, Dr. Al-Mudhahka noted the role played by the Society in absorbing engineering students and graduates and promoting the engineering professions.
The President of the University of Bahrain stated, “It’s my pleasure to congratulate the Bahrain Society of Engineers on its long history spanning over more than half a century, as the first Society of Engineers in the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf.” She noted that many of the Society’s members and executives are professors and graduates of the University of Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka expressed her happiness that Dr. Raeda Al-Alawi, a former faculty member at the College of Engineering, University of Bahrain, is the first woman to preside over the Bahrain Society of Engineers.
The two sides discussed areas of collaboration in organizing joint scientific events, and conducting research studies, and specialized training programs held by the Society in collaboration with its partners.
For her part, Dr. Al-Alawi thanked the President of the University for the warm reception, noting the great role played by the University of Bahrain in graduating and qualifying engineering cadres, and providing them with opportunities to pursue graduate studies. She also expressed her aspiration for expanding collaboration with the University in various fields.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Bahrain Society of Engineers, Dr. Raida Al Alawi, Director of Conferences & Forums Fareed Bushehri, Director of Membership & Profession Affairs, Shaikha Al Khalasi, and the Executive Director of the Society, Dr. Hameed Abdullah
The University of Bahrain was represented by the University President, Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies, Dr. Mohammed Reda Qader Abdullah, and the Dean of the College of Engineering, Dr. Shaikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa.
