Empowering UOB Academics to Enhance Constructive Alignment in Teaching

Academics at the University of Bahrain explored the concept of constructive alignment during a workshop titled ‘Constructive Alignment at Work,’ organized by the Unit of Excellence in Education and Leadership.

Constructive alignment is a teaching design where the intended learning outcomes and how students should demonstrate their learning are clearly defined before instruction begins. The curriculum is then created, and students engage in learning activities that maximize their chances of achieving these outcomes.

This workshop is important as it helps faculty members implement, support, and promote constructive alignment in the classroom for higher education students. Constructive alignment is a key quality assurance approach in education. The workshop was led by Dr. Khalil Ebrahim Mubarak, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physics, College of Science, University of Bahrain.
