Including Digital Technology, Artificial Intelligence and Islamic Banking Dean Of “Business Administration” UoB: Our Programs Keep Pace with Developments and Changes in Global Markets

The College of Business Administration at the University of Bahrain (UoB) is offering eight programs at the bachelor’s level, coinciding with the approaching opening of admission to undergraduate programs for the academic year 2022/2023, in line with the economic vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain 2030, and in support of the mission of UoB to contribute directly to economic development, and as part of the College’s role in promoting academic excellence and innovation in education and research, which has an impact on the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region.
The Dean of the College of Business Administration, Prof. Dr. Hatem bin Mahmood Al-Masri, stressed that the College’s programs seek to hone students’ talents in the latest fields of administrative sciences, and are also working to make them more competitive for work inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, as when the College designed those programs, it took into account keeping pace with global changes in business management, including digital technology and artificial intelligence.
Also, he added that the College has involved local and international experts in the program development process, through market surveys and feasibility studies, and the College has developed the way to offer these programs by relying on modern methods of teaching, and by employing current technological developments in providing and transmitting information to students in a smooth and interesting way.
Among the new package of programs at the College that were launched in the year 2020, is the bachelor’s program in international business and economics, which introduces students to the fields of business and economics in local, regional, and global contexts, critical analysis of economic events, and showing their impact on international business.
Furthermore, the College offered a bachelor’s program in business analysis, within the framework of including the sciences of the Fourth Industrial Revolution in business administration programs, and in response to the high demand from the labor market, especially from digital industrial institutions. In addition to the bachelor’s program in entrepreneurship, due to the importance of the entrepreneurship specialization, and the permanent need by entrepreneurs for graduates in this specialization.
The College offers a bachelor’s program in Islamic banking and financial transactions, given that the Kingdom of Bahrain is one of the most important and oldest poles in the field of Islamic banking, as Islamic banks constitute the largest component of the financial system in the Kingdom.
Also, the College has recently developed four bachelor’s programs, which are respectively: a bachelor’s program in marketing, a bachelor’s program in business administration, a bachelor’s program in banking and finance, and a bachelor’s program in accounting.
The bachelor’s program in business administration is one of the most prestigious business administration programs in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the region, as it has contributed to the graduation of a large number of decision-makers in the local and international labor markets, while the bachelor’s program in accounting is one of the programs accredited by one of the most prestigious professional institutions in the world.
It is worth noting that the College of Business Administration is the only college in the Kingdom of Bahrain whose programs have been accredited by the International Accreditation Association for Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), and therefore it has been ranked as one of the top 6% of the world’s leading schools of business.
