Initiating the Fourth Edition of the Sustainability and Resilience Conference UoB President Calls for Innovation in Design and Green Development

The President of the University of Bahrain (UoB), Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, called for innovation in design and green development, to support environmental sustainability, and consolidate a culture of green technology in all sectors, especially information technology, communications, and industry.
The president gave her speech at the opening of the fourth edition of the International Conference on Sustainability and Resilience: Innovative Design and Digital Approaches (SRC’22).
The Conference was launched on Tuesday (01 November 2022), in which presentations were held in various fields of engineering, business, science, design, planning and construction for sustainable environments.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka commended the outcomes of the previous editions of the conference organized by UoB, noting the growing global interest in the concept of sustainability, and expressing confidence in this editions ability to generate innovative ideas that contribute to the development of societies.
Among the topics covered by the two-day event are sustainable innovation in construction, transportation and infrastructure, sustainable energy, sustainable digital systems, climate change, approaches to innovative thinking and sustainability, finance, economics, and sustainability.
Moreover, she stated: “The conference topics, which attracted several prominent researchers and experts, are in line with Bahrain’s 2030 vision in its quest to achieve a green economy,” noting that “the Kingdom has launched several projects related to green development, especially in infrastructure and new cities.”
During her speech, the Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, Dr. Athra Sayed Abbas Al-Mosawi, welcomed the participants in the Conference, which attracted more than 100 scientific papers from local and foreign universities and scientific centers.
Furthermore, during her speech at the Conference held online, Dr. Al-Mosawi stressed the importance of scientific and research partnerships produced by such forums, especially those that contribute to developing strategies and solutions to various development issues.
She aslo thanked the International Organization of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), Bahrain Branch, for its continuous partnership with UoB in sponsoring this conference for the fourth year in a row.
The papers reviewed by the participants included a scientific paper on exploring the classification of proximity system and space dynamics, another on evaluating the performance of vehicle Internet protocols, and a study on the functional vitality of parks for the sustainable development of cities.
