“ISACA – Bahrain chapter wins ‘Most Innovative Chapter Award’ of ISACA International, USA”

ISACA Bahrain Chapter won the ‘Most Innovative Chapter Award’ for the year 2018, from ISACA International, USA. The ISACA Bahrain Chapter was presented by this prestigious award amongst 217 Chapters of ISACA International from 188 countries. The award ceremony was held in Chicago, USA, on 2 to 6 October 2018, as part of the Global Leadership Summit. This prestigious occasion was globally attended by over 600 participants; who represent the ISACA chapters’ leadership. This award recognizes the outstanding outcomes that were achieved by a program implemented within an ISACA chapter; demonstrating innovative approaches for members’ engagement, continuing education, or community outreach. The ISACA Bahrain chapter received this award for promoting IT Governance and COBIT® 5 to recent university graduates.

Over 225 IT Governance professionals got an opportunity to be certified during a period of one and a half year, of which 56% of the IT Governance certified professionals were females, supporting ISACA International’s ‘She Leads Tech’ initiative- making this one of the highest numbers of certified females in COBIT® 5 in the world.

Dr. Adel Al-Alawi, President of ISACA Bahrain Chapter stated “this award is the recognition of tremendous efforts of ISACA Bahrain Chapter in promoting IT Governance to university graduates in the Kingdom of Bahrain. I would like to extend my gratitude to our board members particularly Dr. Mazen Ali and Mr. Ravi Jayasundra for leading this initiative”. Dr. Adel also thanked Tamkeen and University of Bahrain for their support in conducting the training programs of ISACA Bahrain Chapter. He added “Bahrain has created a favorable ecosystem for development of national human capital through the efforts of various supporting bodies such as Tamkeen and University of Bahrain. Due to their support, this international prestigious award, today gives us the opportunity to appreciate the role and strength of such a collaborative ecosystem; a result that solidifies the position of Bahrain in the international community.

Dr. Adel also reinforced the commitment of ISACA Bahrain Chapter to continually host regular educational events and certification workshops for the benefit of Bahrainis and its members, to contribute to the growth of the Human Capital Development of the Kingdom of Bahrain.
