Khalid bin Hamad praises the Challenge Initiative in achieving competitiveness and consolidating a culture of teamwork among students

His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of the Public Authority for Sports and Chairman of the Bahrain Olympic Committee, witnessed the conclusion of the SHABAB_UOB Challenge initiative, held today on Tuesday, within the activities of the of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa’s Initiatives Office at the University of Bahrain (UoB), with the support of the National Bank of Bahrain (NBB), and in the presence of Dr. Jawaher Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, UoB President, and a number of faculty members.
On this occasion, His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed that investing in youth energies is considered one of the most important and best investments that countries and their societal institutions should invest in, as it has great returns that are reflected in the quality of their lives, by obtaining the best opportunities in their scientific and professional future.
Moreover, His Highness stated that the SHABAB_UOB Challenge initiative is one of a series of important activities and initiatives undertaken by His Highness’s office at UoB, with the aim of raising readiness for the future among the young generations, spreading more enthusiasm for competition, and presenting their best and finest ideas and initiatives that are in line with their era and its requirements.
In addition, His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa praised the SHABAB_UOB Challenge initiative, which aims to enhance the spirit of belonging and patriotism among university affiliates, promote a culture of teamwork and competitiveness among students, and involves them in extra-curricular activities that contribute to consolidating their relations, praising the national role played by UoB and all its academic, administrative and technical cadres throughout the organization of many initiatives, activities and events that develop students capabilities in the scientific, professional and academic terms to enhance their culture of creativity, innovation, competitiveness and challenge, which are the qualities this generation of students must be brought up with to contribute to the national development process in various fields, congratulating all the winners of the first places, and wishing success to those in charge of the initiative.
The closing ceremony began with the royal anthem and then recitation of verses from the Holy Quran. After that, the UoB President, Dr. Jawaher Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, delivered a speech in which she praised the support and confidence of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa in the National University and the Bahraini youth, and his encouragement to the University students and motivating them to excel and be creative and innovative, and activating youth and sports activities at UoB, which constitutes the largest youth gathering in the Kingdom.
Furthermore, Dr. Al-Mudhahka stated that the initiatives of His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa come as a contribution to the National University achieving the aspirations of the Kingdom and its leadership, and its development plans, especially the economic vision 2030, which is based on competitiveness, justice and sustainability, and it also strengthens the role of national youth forces in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship and in the educational, technical and industrial sectors, amidst the sharp transformations the global markets are going through in the economies and job markets that are based on initiative, innovation and leadership.
Dr. Jawaher Al-Mudhahka presented a souvenir to His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The closing ceremony of the SHABAB_UOB challenge was attended by a large number of students and faculty members at the University, and it included a talent show of the participating students and honoring the participants and the winning teams of the first three places, while NBB was also honored as the event sponsor.
It is worth noting that the Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Initiatives Office, which is permanently located at UoB, is an entry point to the world of innovation and leadership, presenting and exchanging studied ideas and developed plans, a gateway to learning about the experiences of others, and an opportunity to highlight students’ efforts and models of ideas in finding solutions. As it embraces Bahraini youth and supports them in realizing their innovative ideas and pioneering projects, and roots them in building society and its prosperity, so that Bahraini youth will be a brilliant competitor in the labor market.
