The Deanship of Admission and Registration at the University of Bahrain (UoB) announced that the deadline for submitting applications for admission to undergraduate programs (second period) is Saturday, 13 August 2022, in eight programs in six colleges at the National University.
The programs of the second period – formerly the evening program – target older high school graduates from inside and outside the Kingdom of Bahrain, and high school graduate students who have previously joined UoB , students who have completely withdrawn from studying at UoB or other universities, students who have graduated from associate diploma programs and bachelor’s degrees from the University or other universities, or students who have been dismissed academically – not disciplinary – provided that the application is for academic programs other than those they were dismissed from.
Dr. Amal Zayed Al-Zayed, Dean of Admission and Registration at the University, stated that the University offers eight academic programs for undergraduates (second period), which are: bachelor’s in business analysis, bachelor’s in entrepreneurship, bachelor’s in cyber security, bachelor’s in life sciences, and bachelor’s in English language and literature, bachelor’s in nursing, bachelor’s in law, bachelor’s in computer science – cloud computing.
Dr. Al-Zayed indicated several instructions for submitting applications for admission to the next academic year, including that the applicant holds a high school certificate or its equivalent, regardless of the graduation year, with a GPA no less than 70%, and that the student fulfils other conditions determined by the competent authorities. The Deanship of Admission and Registration had previously stated the second period program lectures start from 6.00 pm until 9.00 pm and may start at 4 pm in courses in which teaching requires more than three hours, or those that include practical laboratories, as the quorum for course registration is from 5 to 16 credit hours, which is equivalent to two to five courses in one semester.
In addition, students of the first period (morning) programs are allowed to transfer to the programs of the second period, subject to the terms and conditions of the programs they are transferred to, if their transfer is accepted, including the prescribed tuition fees. While second period students are not allowed to transfer to regular first period programs.
