OVERVIEW

Under the slogan of a healthy university community, the University devoted it attention to the health sector, by establishing The University of Bahrain Clinic, which is located in Building (S-21) on the University Campus in Sakhir, and Booth (C-25) on the University Campus in Isa Town. The Clinic serves approximately thirty thousand students, in addition to the University’s employees and visitors.

The work of the University Clinic is not limited to providing medical services only, as it also holds several events that serve students volunteer work, and it supports all university colleges, centers and departments through its various activities, by providing medical and health education support to them.

Since its establishment, the University Clinic has activated the principle of community partnership, by providing the central blood bank in the Salmaniya Medical Complex with blood, through the organization of annual blood donation campaigns, which witness a great attendance from all the University employees. Also, the Center offers training for students from the Ministry of Education in the week of community service.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Providing regular medical services and emergency medicine services in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.
  2. Medical coverage for the examination period, the period of admission and registration, the events and activities of the Student Activities Department and other administrative bodies that request the Center’s assistance.
  3. Participation in medical coverage in social events, for example (blood donation campaigns, National Day events, and student activities events).
  4. Approve students’ sick leaves in case they are absent from exams, and send them to their affiliated colleges.
  5. Conducting precautionary examinations to detect the novel virus.

SERVICES

The University Clinic is equipped with an emergency room, with five beds, an ambulance, and a medical and administrative staff, providing health services with a high level of professionalism. In addition, the Health Center has two phone numbers for emergencies, (17435999 and 17438000), which were distributed with stickers on the doors and corridors of colleges and restaurants, allowing students to communicate with the University Clinic, if necessary, to request an ambulance.
