Prof. Hamza: Our Visions and Academic Experience to be presented in front of Higher Education Leaders in the region

UoB to Present Three Research Papers
PresidentsPicA delegation led by the President of the University of Bahrain, Prof. Riyad Y Hamza, will participate in the 7th QS Middle East and North Africa Professional Leaders in Education Conference & Exhibition (QS-MAPLE 2017), held in Dubai today (Tuesday 02 May 2017).

Prof. Hamzah said: “The participation of the university in this international event, which focuses on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), will have a profound and positive impact on our national university and the role it plays in the society, especially in view of the Transformation Plan 2016- 2021. This plan draws a roadmap that will help us fulfill our national priorities. We always look forward to enhancing our experience through adopting the knowledge and good practice exchange approach.”

Through its Transformation Plan (2016-2021), UoB seeks to provide high quality study programs, continuous professional development of employees, and a more conductive environment for innovation and creativity. It also contributes to the development and diversification of the Bahraini economy, and helps create more effective partnerships with the labour market, industrial sector and stake holders. This partnership would encourage research related to their needs, enhance excellence among students, and create a world-class campus that is based

on technology and is environment-friendly.

Prof. Hamza also said: “These regional and international forums and conferences help us stay up-to-date with the latest academic and administrative trends and practices in many well-established institutions. This would establish a good knowledge base that is in line with the cultural values of universities and the progress they wish to achieve at all levels, which would in turn be reflected on their global rankings.”

The 7th conference will discuss a number of key issues, including Intelligent education and its role in shaping the future of learning. These aspects are very important in determining higher education indicators and the future of the global management education landscape. More than 40 research papers will be presented by senior university and higher education officials in the Middle East and North Africa, covering topics related to education, learning and curriculum; strategic planning and scientific research; internationalization of innovation; quality assurance and accreditation; and the future of students and their careers.

Prof. Riyad Y. Hamza, will deliver a speech highlighting the Transformation Plan (2016-2021) and its hopes and aspirations for the coming years. Mr. Cameron Mirza will also present a paper entitled “Strategic Planning and its Role in Promoting University Quality Performance, ” and Dr. Mohammad Baqer, Director of the Strategy and Performance Unit at the University of Bahrain, will present a paper entitled “Accreditation and Quality Assurance in E-Learning”.

During the Conference, the University of Bahrain will exhibit a number of its academic and informative publications.
