Professor Hamzah Receives Professor Yusra Al-Mouzughi and Review Prospects for Joint Cooperation

On Sunday morning 04 July 2021, the President of the University of Bahrain, Professor Riyad Youssef Hamzah, received in his office the President of the Royal University for Women, Professor Yusra Al-Mouzughi. Professor Hamzah congratulated Professor Yusra on the occasion of her assumption of the presidency of the Royal University for Women, wishing her every success in her new position.

During the meeting, the President of the UOB reviewed the most important achievements of the national university during the past thirty-five years, its future plans to support scientific research based on national priorities and its interest in creativity and keeping pace with global developments, especially those related to the Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR), in line with the government work program and Bahrain Economic Vision 2030.

Professor Hamzah and Professor Yusra reviewed the prospects for cooperation between the two universities as well as areas that enhance the benefit of students of both sides from the available means.

It is noteworthy that Prof. Yusra Al-Mouzughi had headed Muscat University in the Sultanate of Oman, as the first female Head of a University in the Sultanate, before assuming the presidency of the Royal University for Women. Professor Yusra Al-Mouzughi holds a PhD in knowledge management from Liverpool John Moores University where she continues to act as a Visiting Professor. She is interested in research related to academic quality.

The meeting was attended by Dr. Mona Suri, Academic Vice President, Ms. Aysha Murad, Director of Business Development at the Royal University for Women, and Prof. Maryam Abu Al-Fath, Research and Teaching Assistant at the College of Applied Studies of UOB.
