Registration for “Hakaya” Competition is Now Open

Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowdar, Dean of Student Affairshas announced that registration for the Short Story competition “Hakaya” is now open. The competition is organized by the UoB permanent Initiatives Office of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of Bahrain Disabled Sports Federation. It will be held on Saturday, 16 March 2019, at the UoB Sakhir campus.

The announcement was made on Monday during the inauguration of a book fair accompanying the competition. The inauguration was attended by faculty members, students and those interested in literature and culture. Several publishing companies participated in the book fair such as Kalimat Group, Masa Publishing Company and Masciliana Editions.

Dr. Al-Jowdar invited university students who wish to participate to submit their applications via a special link on the university website, or to directly hand-deliver their applications to the Initiatives Office.

Participants will spend three continuous hours (from 10 am to 1 pm) writing a short story. Fundamental guidelines for the competition have been set by the Deanship of Student Affairs.
